Oklahomans Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill and Kings of Leon win at the Grammys

Carrie Underwood , Vince Gill and Kings of Leon were the winners with Oklahoma ties Sunday night at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. Underwood, who hails from Checotah, won for female country vocal performance for her hit Last Name, which she also performed on the show. It was her sole nomination, and since the 2005 American Idol winner has rarely been shut out of an awards show since she hit it big, it wasnt a shock to see her take home the golden gramophone in the Grammys pre-telecast ceremony. The Associated Press noted that unlike most top names nominated in the pre-telecast, Underwood showed up to accept her Grammy Theres no way this could ever, on this planet, get old, said Underwood as she accepted her trophy.
